Project Deployment Capabilities

We're transforming the way global businesses deploy IT infrastructure projects with our turnkey service, Project Control, delivering projects on time and on budget.

Project Control is an end-to-end IT infrastructure deployment service for an organization’s physical layer; that is, we manage a project starting with a plan for the structured cabling up through installation, commissioning and handover, including attached IP devices. It addresses the specific requirements of deployments where project complexity, a need for instant visibility of remote sites and resource utilization are common issues.

Specifying the right products for a project can be hard enough and when new and emerging technologies are involved it becomes exponentially more difficult. We have the technical expertise and industry knowledge to deliver the perfect support service during the specification phase.

What you might not know is that despite our own range of in-house solutions, our approach to any project is fiercely vendor-neutral. We take this approach because we don’t see any logic in trying to disrupt your existing long-term supply contracts or your product preferences. Of course, we’ve never hidden the fact that we’re also a leading manufacturer of structured cabling systems and we’re always delighted when our customers specify our solutions in their projects.

For remote deployments, we’ll arrange importation and customs clearance, as well as making it our business to work with the local installer to understand and ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements. With Project Control you always get the solutions that you choose, no matter the manufacturer.

We are a manufacturer of leading IP-based solutions with over 30 years’ experience, which means you can be confident we know a thing or two about the latest technologies, industry design requirements and system integration.

We’re able to harness this knowledge to provide the sort of specialist design support you’ll value with our capabilities extending to planning even the largest data centers.

Successful management of complex IT infrastructure projects is in our DNA and we believe that while standard project management techniques might work well enough for construction projects, they aren’t appropriate for the specific issues faced in IT infrastructure deployments or simultaneous rollouts on multiple sites.

Careful and experienced coordination is vital to ensure a diverse range of IP connected devices is installed correctly and operates seamlessly, even in remote locations far from your own IT talent pool – we provide this experience. Deployment of Project Control also enables direct access to a range of innovative products and solutions from Molex and our strategic partners.

We’re fully-accountable and provide you with a single-point-of-contact, so no more chasing multiple vendors and installers. Our cloud-based reporting system means that the status of each of your projects is visible to you 24-7, wherever they are and wherever you are, ensuring complete control.

We believe that managing IT infrastructure projects should be less of an art and something altogether more scientific and predictable.

One of the key benefits of working with us is our established global footprint; our Certified Installer base operates in almost 60 countries and this is important because it means that by choosing Project Control you are unlocking access to a global network of pre-vetted and highly-trained installers, with local language skills and a knowledge of in-country installation regulations.

For remote deployments we can arrange importation and customs clearance, as well as making it our business to work with the local installer to understand local regulatory requirements and ensure compliance.

We have a deep knowledge of international logistics, financial compliance and law, meaning you’ll never need to waste time  navigating these minefields and letting you focus on the important stuff.

We have a wealth of experience in the installation and commissioning of IP platforms and their attached devices.

In a new network environment, the commissioning service we provide is a vital, systematic quality assurance process to verify that networked IP systems are fully operational and perform interactively according to the design intent and business requirements.

In a project in which MPN structured cabling has been specified, the commissioning process is an important stage because it enables us to apply our 25-year System Performance and Application Assurance Warranty. It’s another reason to choose Molex!

Making sure a project is delivered to time, cost and quality expectations requires effective monitoring of installation and implementation. This ensures ‘as-built’ is consistent with ‘as-designed’.

Project Control System (PCS) is unique to Molex and it provides 24-7 visibility of your projects. PCS is a secure, multi-level browser-based system that lets you check on the key milestones of any project, at any time, from any location.

As well as providing tracking of site deployments and related information, PCS enables real-time, 24-7 project status visibility to all key stakeholders and because it’s cloud-based, it’s accessible from anywhere you can access the web.

Evidential proof of progress with pictures and video ensures you are always kept up to date in real time, as each key milestone is reached. Access is unlimited and permissions are set by stakeholder access level across multiple vendors, allowing you total control and visibility of your project, helping you to realise your objectives.

What is the Internet of Things? McKinsey & Company* describe it as “Sensors and actuators connected by networks to computing systems.” Put another way, it could be described as a system of network-connected devices that you wouldn’t readily associate with this type of capability.

For instance, if you imagine a hand-towel dispenser that could inform maintenance when stocks are running low; a refrigerator that sends you an email to let you know it’s getting too hot or even a sensor network in a company’s offices that senses room occupancy and adjusts the heating and lighting accordingly, these are just a few examples of the Internet of Things or simply ‘IoT’ in operation.

You’ll already be more familiar with IoT systems in action such as CCTV, access control, HVAC, smart LED lighting and asset tracking and you can trace early examples of IoT in action right back to the mid-1980s where modem-enabled copiers and printers gathered and analyzed machine diagnostic data to enable preventative maintenance.

Gartner, Inc.** forecasts that 6.4 billion connected things will be in use worldwide in 2016, up 30 percent from 2015 and will reach 20.8 billion by 2020 with 6.6 billion units shipping in that year alone. They also forecast that in 2016, 5.5 million new things will get connected every day.

Our solutions and services have been developed to meet the ever-growing needs of global organizations choosing an IoT strategy.
