The Steamboat Springs School District (SSSD), located in Colorado, embarked on a transformative project to retrofit their administrative office building, occupying 21,000 square feet, with the primary goal of achieving energy efficiency and streamlining facilities management.
SSSD had implemented a smart building solution from a vendor that was no longer in business. Their familiarity with Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology, coupled with their need for a dependable replacement, led to their decision to adopt Molex’s CoreSync Smart Building Platform.
Molex’s CoreSync Smart Building Platform has been implemented to optimize energy use through advanced controls such as lighting automation and daylight harvesting
while simplifying operations through centralized management of building systems.
The project, spanning one year from planning to full deployment, included:
• Comprehensive on-site training provided by integrator EOS Power, ensured facility managers and employees were adept at operating and maintaining the new systems.
• Smooth coordination between Molex and the district team to ensure minimal disruption during the retrofit.
The project successfully met its objectives, with staff and facility managers expressing satisfaction with the user-friendly CoreSync interface and its integration capabilities.
Following the successful implementation at the admin building, Molex is collaborating with SSSD to replace another smart building solution at their Sleeping Giant K-8 school, further extending the benefits delivered by CoreSync.
The collaboration between Molex and SSSD demonstrates how intelligent building solutions can deliver tangible benefits in energy savings and operational efficiency. The CoreSync platform not only resolved immediate challenges but also established a robust foundation for future advancements.
