Flexible, reliable and fast, PoE provides a convenient and cost-effective approach to connecting and powering a range of equipment, including IoT devices.

Power over Ethernet ( PoE ) is a network technology that allows electrical power to travel over an Ethernet cable data connection, delivering DC power to powered and IP-enabled devices. This minimizes the number of cables that must be run in order to install the network, saving manpower and materials costs.
With the latest high-power Power over Ethernet delivering more than 71W, the potential for this technology is rapidly expanding. As well as smart building / IoT sensors, VoIP services and IP cameras, PoE can power point-of-sale equipment, lights, AV systems, window blinds and laptops.
PoE is an inherently safe technology with failsafes and checks built-in. This means legacy equipment can be combined on the same network as the latest technology without fear of equipment damage. Upgrades and reconfigurations can be made with a minimum of disruption, without having to affect other areas of the network, and without having to involve costly electrical engineering specialists.

By reducing the time and expense of having electrical power cabling installed. Network cables do not require a qualified electrician to fit them, and can be located anywhere.

No need for electrical outlet tethering , devices such as IP cameras and wireless access points can be located wherever they are needed most, and re-positioned easily if required.

PoE comes from a central and universally compatible source, rather than a collection of distributed wall adapters. It can be backed-up through uninterruptible power supply, or controlled to easily disable or reset devices.

Offering information sharing from IP-enabled devices, enabling the two communication between devices and a central location.

PoE cabling allows ensures devices can be controlled and managed remotely.

PoE delivery is intelligent and protects network equipment from overload, under powering, or incorrect installation.

The PoE standard incorporates measures to ensure its safe operation, both to protect legacy equipment from damage and to protect users from the hazards of electrical power.
