With the latest high-power Power over Ethernet delivering up to 71W, the potential for this technology is rapidly expanding. As well as smart building / IoT sensors, VoIP services and IP cameras, PoE can power point-of-sale equipment, lights, AV systems, window blinds and laptops.

PoE is an inherently safe technology with failsafes and checks built-in. This means legacy equipment can be combined on the same network as the latest technology without fear of equipment damage. Upgrades and reconfigurations can be made with a minimum of disruption, without having to affect other areas of the network, and without having to involve costly electrical engineering specialists.
